Hiking up the Bad Lands

Custer Day 2

We left the RV this morning really early to head to the Bad Lands. We had a 2 hr. drive ahead of us. Before we went to the Bad Lands, we went to a gas station called Flying Jay. The crazy thing I saw in the gas station was a casino. We ten headed towards the National Park.  When we got in the park, we explored it a little bit. What I noticed in the park was the signs that said Caution Rattle Snakes around. The hills in the Bad Lands are different colors. Some hills are black while others are different colors than black.  We then ate lunch at the park. I had a ham and cheese sandwich. Of course while we were leaving the picnic area my mom saw a Mississippi State person. My mom rolled down the windows and said Hail State. Of course my dad and I were in the car a little embarrassed. We got over it a little bit later. Next we went to the Visitor Center. We watched a movie then headed back to the car.  We have a state that we did not see until we were in SD. It was Maryland. We finally found Maryland on this trip. We saw not one but 5 Maryland license plates in 1 day. Now it was time for our Hike. We hiked up the Notch Trail. We climbed a latter and some rocks but it was worth the walk. We saw some amazing views. But it was time to hike down the latter. Just going down the latter took us 5 minutes to go down. We ate steak for dinner. Now we are getting ready to watch some Baseball and go to Omaha tomorrow. We will lose a hour of sleep tomorrow.
