Bison Bison where are you?

Custer SD day 1

Today my family and I went to Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, and Crazy Horse. Mount Rushmore is a mountain that has 4 presidents carved on it. The 4 presidents are George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Teddy Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. Gutzon Borglum was the person who carved the presidents in the mountain. At Mount Rushmore we also walked the Presidential Trail. It talked about every president and what their achievements were. Next we went to Custer State Park. We went around the Wildlife Loop. Before the loop we saw 1 bison. My dad forgot to take the photo of the bison and my mom said that we would see plenty of more bison on the loop. Well mom lost the bet with my dad and we saw no more bison on the loop. We saw some deer and a donkey. Of course the donkey was not wild but we said there is an animal. The donkey was in the middle of the road and letting people in the cars pet him. The donkey liked the people so much that he put his whole face in the window of the car. After Custer State Park we went to a Mexican restaurant for “Linner”. The Mexican food was both our Lunch and our Dinner. The Mexican Restaurant was even better than the one we had in Hurricane UT. Our Waitress made us Guacamole Live. The Guac was really good. We also had a different kind of Cheese dip. The Cheese dip was a fondue type of cheese. It is way better than the one we have in Albemarle. After we ate we went to the Crazy Horse. Crazy Horse is a carving that is not finished to honor the Native Americans. Korczak Ziolkowsk and his wife Ruth were the first to work on it. They then had 10 kids to help them on the carving. Now since Ruth and Korczak have both died, their children are keeping their legacy going. Crazy Horse is NOT nationally funded or state funded. So all the payments that you have in the park head towards them doing Crazy Horse. They have been working on it for over 70 years now. They only have the head finished and now they are working for the finger of the Native American. After Crazy Horse we headed back to the RV. Tomorrow we will hike at the Bad Lands National Park.
